At Twilight at Taronga, the welfare of the animals we care for are always our first concern.
The Zoo commissioned an expert environmental monitoring agency to work with its Life Sciences and Behavioural Studies teams to assess any sound impacts from concerts or other events held at Taronga. Production guidelines are in place to ensure we maintain the comfort and safety of our animals at all times.
Taronga’s expert keepers observe the animals behaviour throughout each show and we are very pleased to advise that there have been no reported issues since the concerts began in 1996.
The Zoo measures noise levels periodically during the concerts and if the guidelines are accidentally exceeded, the volume is immediately reduced. Taronga’s noise management protocol can be read here.
Taronga is a not for profit organisation and funds raised by the series directly benefit the Zoo’s wildlife programs.
